Hello, I am Chiara

A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn't part of our long-term plan. Like many expat relocations, it began as a job opportunity and quickly grew into something far larger.
The first months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more complicated than they should.
The Adjustment Period
We experienced culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines formed. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and started building something that felt stable.
Why I Built AshBudLakeside
Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family perspective.
This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Italy.
What This Website Is For (And Not For)
This site is about:

- Not a tourism board resource
- Not a paid-review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
